Pools: Style Without Sacrificing Safety

Hi, my name is Katrina, and I have always had a pool. My parents had one when I was growing up, I have lived in apartment complexes with pools, and I currently have a pool in my yard. Through the years, I have paid close attention to how people position their pools, the designs they select and the fences they use. Personally, I am not a fan of super industrial looking or boring fences and pool designs. Instead, I like to see creative and beautiful ideas, and achieving a stylish pool is possible. Worried that it will disrupt your safety? Well, it wont. This blog has all kind of tips on achieving pool style without giving up on safety. Enjoy swimming in style!

Fun Enhancements To Add To Your In-Ground Swimming Pool

If you have an in-ground swimming pool on your property, you most likely enjoy the appearance it provides to your property as well as the relaxation and cooling features it gives during hot summer days and nights. If you wish to increase the pleasure you feel when using your pool, you may want to consider making an addition to the pool's activity base. Here are a few ideas you can consider if you wish to revamp your swimming pool so it includes extra fun for all who use it.

Add A Spot To Relax

A sunbathing spot can be added right on the side of your swimming pool if desired. A pool contractor would be able to reshape one portion of the side of your swimming pool so you have a concave ledge area to use for relaxation. This allows you to be directly next to the water, enhancing the amount of sunlight your body soaks in as a result.

Give Kids Some Activities

A slide can be easily installed to the side of your pool. This will have a small pump installed within the unit to keep water circulating on the sitting area so those who use it will be able to slip down into the water without difficulty at all. Alternately, or in addition to a slide, a diving board will give those using the pool the ability to try high jumps, flips, or spins before they hit the water. Check with a pool contractor to determine the height of either of these additions to make sure they are safe for the depth you have available inside of your pool.

Use Moving Water

Many enjoy the sound of water trickling or splashing as it helps to relax the mind. Consider adding jets to the sides of the pool to keep water moving throughout the swimming area. These can be strategically placed closer together on one side of your pool along with small ledges to sit upon and enjoy the feel and sound of the water as it is pushed toward you. Above ground water jets can also be added to the sides of your pool and placed on a timer to give those swimming the enjoyment of a surprise shower as they make their way back and forth in the swimming space. Adding a rock structure to a portion of your pool and directing water via small hoses so it skims the stones is another option available.
