Pools: Style Without Sacrificing Safety

Hi, my name is Katrina, and I have always had a pool. My parents had one when I was growing up, I have lived in apartment complexes with pools, and I currently have a pool in my yard. Through the years, I have paid close attention to how people position their pools, the designs they select and the fences they use. Personally, I am not a fan of super industrial looking or boring fences and pool designs. Instead, I like to see creative and beautiful ideas, and achieving a stylish pool is possible. Worried that it will disrupt your safety? Well, it wont. This blog has all kind of tips on achieving pool style without giving up on safety. Enjoy swimming in style!

The Healing Powers Of Relaxing In A Jetted Tub

Investing in a jet tub is investing in yourself. These specialized tubs are a great tool in learning to relax, which has many health benefits.

The Benefits of Relaxation

Being in a constant state of stress is bad for your health- both physical and mental. While it may be hard to schedule in time to just relax, it is important. Every evening, try sitting in your jet tub while listening to soft music, practicing visualization, reading a book, or even just focusing on breathing deeply. This can help you sleep better when it's time for bed, but the benefits go far beyond that. Just a few of the benefits that you can receive are:

  • Slowing your heart rate and breathing rate
  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Reducing activity of stress hormones, anger, and frustration
  • Increasing blood flow to major muscles
  • Reducing muscle tension and chronic pain
  • Improving concentration and mood
  • Lowering fatigue levels
  • Boosting confidence to handle problems

One thing that people may not realize is that anxiety and stress, especially when it reaches the level of a disorder, causes problems at the cellular level. This leads to aging-related conditions and just flat out aging at a faster rate.

Relaxation Tips

As mentioned previously, taking time to sit in a jetted tub most evenings is a great tactic to reduce stress levels. The ideal time that should be allotted for relaxation techniques is 20-30 minutes. Make sure you aren't rushing your relaxation because it is counterproductive.

The benefit to having a jet tub instead of a regular tub is that the air streams hit your body rhythmically, creating a calming sensation. It is meant to mimic the benefits of massage, only in a more methodical way. Many people also find the bubbles and soft noises soothing in their own way.

Keep the water warm. Having the warmth surround you is helpful because the temperature helps your body relax more fully. Cold water limits the amount of time that you will want to sit there and water that is too hot is anything but relaxing. Make sure the temperature is just right for your purpose.

Make sure you eliminate all distractions. Limit amounts of noise, light, odor, and movement- just focus on relaxing. If you have young kids, this is most likely only going to happen once they are asleep, but you can also have someone watch the kids in a far, far corner of the house. Take this time to sit back and enjoy your time alone.
